A versatile artistic platform
Sonic Acts has since evolved into a platform spanning a broad range of activities including artist residencies, commissions, long-term research projects, public programmes, workshops, exhibitions, concerts and screenings. The organisation also publishes books, records, and the magazine Ecoes through Sonic Acts Press, which explores contemporary artistic, ecological and theoretical practices.
A key event in Sonic Acts’ programme is the Sonic Acts Biennial, a thematic two-year festival featuring exhibitions, concerts, performances, screenings and conferences across a wide array of fields, practices and disciplines. Most of the projects developed through Sonic Acts’ residencies and commissions are presented during the Biennial too – many of which are realised in collaboration with cultural institutions, universities, festivals and independent organisations.
