Rondleidingen Pathé Tuschinski

Pathé Tuschinski organizes guided tours and audio tours of the theater that introduce you to the wonders of the building. The skylights in which the colors slowly slide, the rich paintings in the corridors, the wonderful Moorish and Japanese room, the wall coverings of rare types of wood and marble, you will see everything.

Large-scale restoration

A large-scale restoration took place from November 2000 to March 2002. The building revealed special secrets from its past: 18 Art Deco women by Pieter den Besten emerged. Willem Kromhout's original peacock ceiling in the Grote Zaal has been rediscovered.

On October 28, 1921, the doors of the most luxurious film theater that the Netherlands has ever known opened. The visitor walked over deep-pile carpets into a colorfully decorated fairytale world. He had all the styles that Abraham Tuschinski loved incorporated into the building by top artists: Willem Kromhout, Jaap Gidding and Pieter den Besten merged Jugendstil, Amsterdam School and Art Deco in the dream cinema in which earthly reality could be forgotten: Theater Tuschinski.

Audio tour of Royal Theater Tuschinski
