Camping Vliegenbos

Although situated amidst a peaceful forest setting to the north of Amsterdam, Camping Vliegenbos is actually one of the nearest campsites to the heart of the city. On the outskirts of the site, you can easily access rural fishing villages such as Monnickendam, Volendam, Edam and Marken, while the free public ferries across to Amsterdam Central Station are a mere 10 minutes away.

Extensive camping accommodations

Not only perfect for seasoned campers and caravanners, the site is home to 30 trekking chalets and one larger group accommodation (bedding not included and reservations recommended in peak summer months). Although more of a quiet site than a backpackers’ party location, the site does offer a comfy bar and restaurant with terrace (open till 23:00). There’s also modern sanitary buildings, a shop and laundrette, plus facilities for the handicapped. Animal lovers take note however: there is a no dogs policy.
