This organic orchard and fruit farm in Amsterdam's Nieuw West welcomes visitors and pick-your-own fans with open arms.
Many Amsterdammers do not have a garden and have to make do with a balcony. But luckily, the city has the Fruittuin van West. Owners Wil and Lisan wanted to create a place where city and nature come together, where the locals can connect with farm life.
In addition to the farm, the greenhouses and stables, there is a huge fruit garden here to pick your own products of nature. The garden is full of raspberry and blackberry bushes, apple trees, cherry trees, pear trees, and various currant bushes. But you will also find nectarines, strawberries, cranberries and grapes here. In Winter, you can also pick in the 'hickory cave' or the shiitake greenhouses.
