Your City Card provides unlimited access to public transport within the Amsterdam city limits. You can use any GVB (blue and white) bus, tram or metro. Ferries across the water are free. Plan your trip or view schedules here.

Need help?

The City Card is activated when first entering a museum, attraction or using public transport. After activation your City Card is valid for 24, 48, 72, 96 or 120 hours, depending on your card purchase.

Present your City Card at the ticket counter of participating museums and attractions and you will gain entrance. At the Rijksmuseum, you can skip the line and present your City Card at a separate desk.

The City Card is valid on all transport by GVB. You can recognize the GVB by their blue logo. The GVB operates the bus, tram, metro and ferry lines in Amsterdam. The night bus is also included. To check into GVB transport you hold your City Card in front of the scanner on the bus, tram or metro. When you’re getting off, hold your card in front of the scanner again to check out.
