ABOUT THE AUDITION

During a year at DEGASTEN, you will develop your own skills: from physical acting to improvisation, from exploring to writing to creating. You do not need any experience. This all takes place within a fixed group, where different backgrounds, ages, and levels inspire and strengthen one another. Everything we do is created as a group, with young people in the lead.

Inclusivity is our working method; it has been in our DNA since day one. You see and feel it in the stories, the forms, the audience, and the creative community. Join us!

The audition takes place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Podium Mozaïek. You can choose between the morning (10:30 - 14:00) or the afternoon (14:30 - 18:00). The audition is a fun, creative work session where you go on stage with a group and take part in two different theatre workshops. You don't need to prepare anything or to show something on your own. We select based on courage, physical play, and collaboration within the group. If you have little or no theater experience, that is not a problem. The most important thing is to have fun with your fellow players!

ABOUT DEGASTEN

DEGASTEN makes theater in Amsterdam with young actors and players (13-31 years). The development of play, movement, imagination and collaboration is central. It is not only about the endresult, but also about the process: daring, trying, failing, starting again. We work with hyper-diverse groups, where different backgrounds, ages and levels inspire and build upon each other. DEGASTEN's strength lies in guiding young talent in a deep, personal context, often in collaboration with social, artistic or educational partners. This approach results in theatre performances and experiences with a distinctive artistic touch.
