About the battle between good and evil
Six puppeteers play the big wooden marionets. The performance will be performed with our own musical recording in Dutch. Because of the musical and visual character of the performance, there is no serious barrier of language. A program sheet in English will be provided.
Mozart wrote Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) in 1791. He did not create it for a large opera house, but for a smaller, more intimate theatre.
Mozart collaborated with his friend Schikaneder, who wrote the text. Both were very interested in the so-called magic opera . This type of theatre was first created by Stranitzky.
He also created Hanswurst, a comical character from the Viennese folk theatre. The character Papageno in The Magic Flute was later based on Hanswurst. Stranitzky also had his own puppet theatre. Mozart's magic opera combines magical stage effects and puppetry. It's a fantastical story perfectly suited to our marionettes.
Performed with a custom audio recording, in Dutch (language no problem)
For adults and children (aged 7 and up).
