Five Masterclasses
From Friday 30 January 2026, the Rembrandt House Museum will reveal his best tips and tricks in five Masterclasses: Observation, Technique, Emotion, Experimentation, and Marketing. For nineteen years, the museum served as the creative home where Rembrandt and his pupils worked. During this exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to discover, improve, and proudly display what they have created.
The exhibition combines etchings, paintings, and a drawing by Rembrandt with interactive assignments, such as drawing, directing a scene, and recognising Rembrandt's real works. Visitors are challenged to look, draw, experiment, and analyse just as Rembrandt and his pupils did more than 350 years ago.
At the end of the exhibition, you will come face to face with one of Rembrandt’s masterpieces, the painting De anatomische les van Dr. Jan Deijman, which currently hangs in the Gallery of Honour at the Rijksmuseum. In the slow-watching room, visitors get the time to properly appreciate his work, armed with the knowledge gained from the Masterclass.
