The Amsterdam Storytelling Festival: Marjolein Robertson - The Shetland witch

Marjolein Robertson closes the day with wild and witchy stories, diving into the wild and enchanting sagas of the Shetlandeilanden. She once lived in Amsterdam, but is now an established name in the British comedy and storytelling world and far beyond. In recent years, Marjolein has developed a contrarian style in which she brings centuries-old stories to life with a good dose of punk energy. Listen to her stories and let yourself be carried away by the wild! English spoken.

About Marjolein Robertson

Marjolein Robertson is an award-winning comedian, improviser, writer and storyteller from Shetland. She currently lives in London. In her comedy style, she weaves traditional Shetland folk tales with stand-up comedy. In doing so, she moves effortlessly on the border between relatability and surrealism.

She has been a support act on tours for several of her comedy heroes, including Ardal O’Hanlon and Kerry Godliman.

Amsterdam Storytelling Festival

As the days grow darker and colder, it is time to come together and warm our hearts with stories. This year, The Amsterdam Storytelling Festival invites you to meet the Seer - not as a fortune teller, but as someone who hears truth. Blind to appearances and distractions, the Seer notices what others overlook and sees what remains invisible to ordinary eyes.

Through performances, lectures and workshops, the festival offers space for stories that dare to explore the uncomfortable, the invisible and the unknown. From inner worlds to the boundaries of life and death, from visions to imagination… unspoken truths, looming disasters, secrets behind masks. The Seer knows. Who dares to listen?
