About this 2nd edition
For this 2nd edition of (Sex)Work It!, the Red Light Icons present their Sex Workers Throughout History Fashion Show . This collective was founded in Amsterdam's Red Light District with a mission to increase the visibility of sex work. After shows at De Parade 2026, among others, the Red Light Icons are now bringing their Fashion Show to Frascati. Fashion, community, sex work, and stories of resistance come together on the catwalk to make the history of sex work visible, reshape it, and celebrate it.
Where does art end and sex work begin? And who decides that?
(Sex)Work It! originated from the conviction that there is no hard separation between art and sex work, as if the former were “culture” and the latter “taboo.” However, while art institutions in the center of Amsterdam receive municipal subsidies, sex workers working in the same area risk being driven out of public view. With ( Sex)Work It!, Frascati, a theater located in the Wallen district, offers space for sex workers to come together through art and offer resistance.
