Drugs as a common thread through society

In the performance Dope by Lloydscompany, you follow four people, each with a different role in the world of drugs: a 'uithaler' (retriever), a parent, a customs officer, and a user. Through hip-hop, dance, monologues, and intimate conversations, they show how drugs run through daily life. Not as something far removed from your own world, but as something that affects you personally.

What you see and feel

The performance places you in the middle of a drug deal. You see the dreams of quick money, the temptations of social media, and the consequences of poverty. The story is about young people who feel they do not matter. Dope confronts without judging.

Research behind the performance

The performance is based on research by FORT-PORT into drug trafficking and the dilemmas in the fight against it. From 1 hour before the start, the researchers present their findings in an artistic way in the foyer of Frascati Theater Amsterdam. Think of a short film, a game, or spoken word. This program is free and freely accessible.
