A film about power, responsibility, and chaos

In Digger, Tom Cruise plays the most powerful man in the world: someone who has set in motion a global catastrophe and is now doing whatever it takes to stop it. Director Alejandro González Iñárritu, known for Birdman and The Revenant , calls it a 'comedy of catastrophic proportions'. That sounds contradictory, but it is precisely that tension that makes the film special.

An impressive cast

Alongside Tom Cruise, you see Sandra Hüller, Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Jesse Plemons. Iñárritu wrote the script together with Alexander Dinelaris, Nicolás Giacobone, and Sabina Berman. The film once again works with regular collaborators such as cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki and editor Stephen Mirrione. Digger was shot entirely in VistaVision, a widescreen format that gives the image extra depth.
