Allard Pierson - museum and knowledge institute for the heritage collections of the University of Amsterdam. In the permanent exhibition From Nijl tot Amstel you travel through 10,000 years of cultural history. From Egyptian mummies, Greek pottery and Roman glass to Medieval bibles, cookbooks, Multatuli's manuscripts and plaster casts of famous classical statues; it is a selection from the range of the Allard Pierson Cultuurhistorisch museum in Amsterdam.

It is not necessary to reserve a time slot to visit this location with your City Card. Make sure that your City Card is valid at the time of your visit.” Please Note: During the Oog in Oog exhibition (until 20 May), a surcharge of €5 applies for City Card holders.

In Allard Pierson Live you can get to work with archaeological shards or digitally browse through the cartographic, theater and music collections.
