Women on paper
Four centuries of female artists
Women on paper is a presentation about women who have left their mark on art history. A selection of female artists from the Rijksmuseum collection has been brought together in five rooms throughout the museum. With drawings, prints and photographs by Gesina ter Borch, Berthe Morisot, Käthe Kollwitz and Julia Margaret Cameron, among others. There are also recent acquisitions by Cornelia de Rijck and Thérèse Schwartze.
Women on Paper is the result of a long-term study with the aim of making an inventory of female artists in the Rijksmuseum collection and creating a more balanced representation in the collection and presentation.
