Loop zelf door het Amsterdam van 1652

On May 21, ENTR will open in Amsterdam as the Netherlands’ first cultural and educational VR museum. Located in a new 2,000-square-meter space on Oosterdokskade, next to Amsterdam Central Station, the experience is not about observing, but about truly stepping into it. Visitors enter a shared virtual world where they explore 1652 Amsterdam together, choosing their own path and shaping their own story. Through virtual reality, ENTR brings culture, history and education to life in an interactive and accessible way.

The first exhibition: Amsterdam 1652

Life in the 17th century has been captured in many paintings, but never before have you been able to step inside it. With Amsterdam 1652, ENTR brings this world to life, placing visitors right in the heart of the city’s daily life: on Dam Square, along the IJ, and inside the printing houses where ideas were spread.

The experience has been developed in collaboration with historians and is based on materials from the City Archives. Drawing on these personal stories of citizens, the experience recreates the everyday life of Amsterdam in that era within a shared, immersive and realistic environment.
