Teen Curators: Keep It-Posted

Over the past few months, a group of young people from Amsterdam South worked on Keep It-Posted within de Appel's Teen Curators program: an art project in the form of a public poster campaign for the city.

Dates
Keep it posted
What happens when young people use public space to make ideas, questions, and experiences visible? Drawing on their own experiences, the participants explored topics such as fashion, identity, sustainability, community, and equality. They asked questions about the impact of fast fashion , the meaning of style and self-expression, access to opportunities, and the role of public meeting places in the city.
Exchange with artists
Throughout the process, the young people met artists, designers, and other makers, visited exhibitions, and developed their own research. Together, they explored how posters can function as a public invitation to conversation. The campaign brings together observations, experiences, and questions from young people and places them at the heart of the city's daily life.
Collaborations
For the campaign, the group collaborated with social printing company Notshitprint and artists Kenneth Aidoo and Yamuna Forzani. Drawing on their diverse artistic practices, they guided the young people in translating conversations, observations, and societal questions into a series of public posters.
Public presentation
On Friday, June 26, Keep It-Posted will be launched during a public presentation at de Appel. During the evening, the Teen Curators will share more about their research, the creative process, and the development of the campaign.
The Teen Curators 2025-26 are: Anhar, Carlijn, Faith, Hannah, Jerra, Jin Li, Lucas, Mallika, Sarah & Tristan.
