In the exhibition MWE, Helena Kaori Maeda presents her vision of our relationship with the earth. With a series of drawings, collected in a carefully designed concertina, she emphasizes that we bear a shared responsibility. We are in the same boat: we share the same oceans, the same land, and the same air. The works serve as a reminder that "mwe" exists—no me without we.

Visual language

During the lockdown, Maeda noticed that many people were grappling with the same questions: who are we, how did we get here, and what choices do we make? From this urgency, she developed a visual language without words, accessible to everyone.

MWE Leporello

MWE is a visual journey from past to future, a pacifist protest and a colorful call for connection in an unbalanced world. The foldable, interactive booklet encourages reflection, collaboration, and the collective search for possible solutions.
