Part 1: November 7, 2025 to January 18, 2026
While digital platforms often construct an image that conforms to expectations, these artists reveal their doubts, vulnerability, strength, and a literal self-confidence. The exhibition consists of two series of five solo presentations, each revealing a different side of the soul. In a society that increasingly polarizes and pigeonholes people, Selfie of the Soul seeks art that reveals the person behind the mask. What happens when we don't approach each other as a group or in a specific role, but truly meet?
Artists Part 1
Hotegni Daniel Dansou, Balthasar Prinsen, Merel Hegenbart, Esther Kin, and interactive installations by Nanny Kok and Tiago da Sa Costa. The participating artists explore diverse questions: who defines who we are? How do origins, time, and environment play a role in shaping identity? Can the body function as an instrument of the soul? Or is the soul actually a mirror of the people around us? In addition to the solo presentations, there are two interactive installations. In these, visitors are invited, among other things, to leave their own "selfie of the soul" by means of a self-portrait of their mouth. Curators: Carlien Oudes, Femke Moedt, and Jolanda Lanslots.
