Dutch history is palpable in Warmoesstraat, where maritime trade, sex work, and religion intersect. Around the corner is the Museum Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder (Our Lord in the Attic), a clandestine church dating from 1663, built when Catholics were not allowed to practice their faith openly.
This work connects the history of the Red Light District with themes of resilience and refuge. It features portraits of people who are both religious and work in the sex industry, demonstrating how seemingly contradictory identities coexist.
