Inspired by Astrida Neimanis' concept of hydrofeminism, this installation maps the movements of water in all life. You experience how moisture flows through pipes, collects, and evaporates. These processes are recognizable to us, because we too consist largely of water. The installation shows that our body is an open ecosystem, connected to the planet's water cycle.

Experience the power of water as an equalizer

In Everything Moist Seems Alive, water takes center stage as the great equalizer. It flows through everything and everyone, connects us, and creates a radically equal level between people, plants, rivers, and clouds. This experience reminds you that we do not just use our biome; we are our biome, constantly fed by a shared, planetary water reservoir.

Composer Frieda Gustavs has developed a unique composition that uses the rhythms and sounds of water as its foundation. From gentle trickling to the force of a waterfall, auditory observations of water have been translated into a layered libretto. A three-part choir performs the composition, conjuring up the water and activating the mechanical systems, creating an immersive and collective experience.
