Encoutering love from different directions

Do you feel excitement or anxiety towards the word love? Rather than trying to answer what love is, Booyaka creates a space to encounter it from different directions.

What happens when entrepreneurial ambition, meditative attention and musical intuition share a stage? Creative director Akshay Mahajan, pianist and composer Maryna Krylova, and songwriter Thomas VD Hek bring different starting points to the same question. Between them are eight previous Booyaka editions, formal training in composition and conducting, and fifteen years in Dutch electronic music. Their meeting unfolds through church organ, piano and electronic, DJ-led rhythms, with lighting drawing Keizersgrachtkerk itself into the experience. Love is approached as something personal, something offered, and something made between people. The event is in English.
