What started in 2017 as a small group of people in Amsterdam singing songs together in an informal setting has grown into the most famous 'walk-in choir' in the Netherlands. Tens of thousands of people have already sung along. From Carré to Paradiso and Lowlands. There have also been several (sold-out) evenings in the Main Hall of the Concertgebouw. The recipe: Tijmen de Koning (guitarist) and Maarten Bos (conductor) write a multi-part version of a fantastic pop song. This is rehearsed with everyone present. In three-part harmony. Everyone can join in. Experience is not necessary. So whether you sing alone in the shower, with your friends in the pub, or never at all, at Popup Choir you simply sing along.

How does it work?

• You will receive the lyrics on paper upon entry. You do not need to read sheet music.
• You stand by your preferred voting group.
• We sing several songs in unison.
• We are learning to sing the main song in three parts.
• A beautiful video is made of the final result.
• You go home happy.

Voting guide

When ordering your ticket, you indicate which voice group you prefer.

• Lower voice group : suitable for all men + suitable for women who like to sing a bit lower (bass, tenor, alto).
• Middle voice group : suitable for women + suitable for men who want to sing somewhat higher (alto and tenor).
• Higher voice group : suitable for women who like to sing higher (soprano).
