Nationaal Cello Concours Tweede ronde

As part of Alles van Beethoven, his Sonata for horn and piano cannot be missing, which Beethoven himself arranged for cello and piano. Märchenbilder by Schumann was originally composed for viola and piano. The famous 19th-century cellist Robert Hausmann, who played the premieres of Brahms’ Second sonata and the Double Concerto, arranged the piece for cello and piano.

The most exciting part of the Biënnale

The Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů composed several duos for two string instruments. The second movement of the duo for violin and cello, with a substantial cadenza for the cello, demands a great deal of the chamber music qualities of the participants. The participants may also choose from three of the shorter highlights from the 20th-century repertoire for solo cello.

This concert is part of Alles van Beethoven.
