Django Amsterdam is once again causing a sensation, this year with a unique solo performance by award-winning British jazz guitarist Martin Taylor. His fingerstyle technique is acclaimed worldwide, as are his stimulating solo arrangements. Later that evening, the duo that has frequently performed to sold-out audiences will take the stage at the Bimhuis: alto saxophonist Benjamin Herman, known for his work with New Cool Collective, and guitarist Robin Nolan, a master of jazz manouche.

Martin Taylor

Martin Taylor rose to fame through his collaboration with the legendary jazz violinist Stéphane Grappelli. Taylor has even been compared to Grappelli's former partner Django Reinhardt, but his style is entirely his own: melodic, harmonically rich, and rhythmically refined.

Robin Nolan

Englishman Nolan was good friends with George Harrison, whose iconic guitars he played on his recent album 'For the Love of George'.

Django Amsterdam

Django Amsterdam is celebrating the birthday of guitar legend Django Reinhardt, the founder of jazz manouche. This style of acoustic swing jazz became part of Roma and Sinti culture thanks to Django. Django is widely considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time. For four days, the concerts on stage will be complemented by sessions and performances in the café. The house band is the trio of guitarist Tessa Spaaij, known for her melodic and expressive style. Each evening, she sets the tone with an introductory performance and a session after the concert.
