A first: the Norwegian Engegård Quartet and the North Sea String Quartet from the Netherlands will perform together on the same stage at the Bimhuis. The North Sea String Quartet's greatest passion is improvisation, which will be combined with the folk music the Engegård will bring. This double string arrangement is ideally suited to translate the layered nature of improvisation, folk melodies, and their rhythms into an intimate and refined context.
