Violin and organ in the Westerkerk

Violinist Michelle Kumara performs works by Arvo Pärt, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Eugène Ysaÿe, among others, in the Westerkerk. Organist Evan Bogerd accompanies her on the organ of the Westerkerk. The program combines solo pieces for violin with compositions in which violin and organ sound together.

A promising violinist

Michelle Kumara studied at the School for Young Talent of the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. She then completed the Bachelor's preparatory program at the Amsterdam Conservatory, where she studied with Peter Brunt. Previously, she performed as a soloist on the stage of the Concertgebouw and appeared on Podium Klassiek.

Young talent in the Oude Wester

Young Talent in the Oude Wester is a concert series of the Grachtenfestival in the Westerkerk. Various young musicians perform there, each time together with organist Evan Bogerd.
