In the Young Talent in the Oude Wester concert series, promising young musicians perform in the Westerkerk in Amsterdam. Soprano Emma de Wijs forms a duo with organist Evan Bogerd. Together, they present a varied program featuring solo pieces and joint compositions.

Soprano with extensive concert experience

Emma de Wijs studies at the Sweelinck Academy of the Amsterdam Conservatory. She has already performed at the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, in Leipzig, and at Carnegie Hall in New York. In addition, she has participated in opera productions by Opera Compact. She feels a strong connection to the Italian repertoire and enjoys immersing herself in the language and opera tradition.

Repertoire from opera to art song

The program includes Italian opera music and art songs by composers such as Fauré and Mozart. The combination of soprano voice and church organ creates a varied listening experience in an acoustically exceptional space.
