Shortly after his 95th birthday, we pay tribute to the film music of John Williams. From Star Wars to ET: this morning, with orchestra and choir, Williams takes center stage. The French conductor Stéphane Denève, who leads this tribute, has worked with Williams, knows him well, and is a great connoisseur and admirer of his repertoire. Nearly half a century of film music comes to life! Please note: during this concert, you will hear music from well-known films; the films themselves will not be shown.

John Williams 95 years old

'Without John Williams, bicycles wouldn't really fly, just like brooms in Quidditch matches and men in red capes. There would be no force, and there would be no dinosaurs walking the earth,' Steven Spielberg believed. Williams and Spielberg collaborated with great success on various film productions, but Williams was and is—he turns 95 in February 2027—much more than Spielberg's musical muse. As one of the 'founding fathers' of film music, his influence cannot be underestimated.
