The King's School Worcester
The school is an English independent school of 900 pupils and was refounded by Henry VIII in 1541. The school is adjacent to Worcester Cathedral where the choir performs regularly. All the Cathedral Choristers are educated at the School. Music plays an important role in the life of the school with numerous choirs and orchestras and a regular series of solo and ensemble concerts each term. Many former pupils have gone on to have careers as professional performers and conductors. Recent tours have included Venice in 2018 where the choir performed Mass at St Mark’s Basilica, Malta in 2020 where they took part in a live broadcast of Mass on Maltese television, Paris in 2023 where they performed at La Madeleine and St Sulpice and Belgium in 2024 which included a performance at the Menin Gate ceremony in Ypres.
