A musical ode to the night

Let yourself be carried away on a warm musical journey full of mystery, tranquility, and beautiful choral sounds! The music and lyrics of Ode to the Night transport the listener to a world with many faces: from loneliness and desolation to an atmosphere of peace, stillness, and wonder.

Contemporary composers from various countries express these themes in their own unique ways, in a variety of choral, instrumental, and solo pieces. You'll hear music by artists including Ola Gjeilo, Eric Whitacre, Morten Lauridsen, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Ludovico Einaudi, and a world premiere by Dutch composer Froukje Verhagen, written especially for EVA.

About the EVA Ensemble Vocal Amsterdam

EVA Ensemble Vocaal Amsterdam is a passionate choir and ensemble dedicated to performing atmospheric and challenging contemporary music, supplemented with lectures. The choir consists of both amateur and professional singers of diverse ages and backgrounds. Together with soprano Sara Corbey, tenor Roy van Vugt, pianist Gerrie Meijers, and the EVA string sextet, EVA brings the program to life under the direction of conductor and artistic director Joke Geraets.
