Alma del Sur
With Alma del Sur, tango specialist and visual artist Marijke de Vries is expanding the monthly tango salon Tango11 salon with a rich, multidisciplinary program. With beginner classes, live music, dance performances, lectures, and an exhibition of visual art, Amsterdam South will be immersed in this rich Argentine art and culture.
Starting in July 2026, the monthly tango salon will be enriched with several special program elements on every third Sunday. In total, six special events have been organized from July through December 2026.
The joy of Tango
Alma del Sur kicks off on Sunday, July 19, and beginners can immediately get acquainted with an introductory lesson by a well-known Latin American dance couple who are visiting the Willem de Zwijgerkerk as part of their world tour, including this introductory lesson and a spectacular dance performance during the salon.
