You are walking through Amsterdam together. The year is 1652.
Not as a spectator, but right in the midst of the city's life. You move through the daily life of that era and discover how Amsterdammers lived, worked, and shaped their world. From Dam Square, where the Waag once stood, to the IJ where ships docked, and the printing presses where ideas went out into the world.
Interactive VR experience
In this interactive VR experience, you follow three city dwellers: a whaler, a printer, and a craftswoman. You help them in their daily lives as their lives intersect during a major fire on Dam Square. At that moment, you choose: which story will you follow? A path of opportunity, or a path of boundaries.
The experience was developed in collaboration with historians and is based on archives and research. Every detail, from the sound of the harbor to the colors of pigment, brings 17th-century Amsterdam to life.
Amsterdam 1652 is not an exhibition you look at, but a world you enter together. A city full of stories. Experience them together in VR.
