De Wester is a monumental industrial gem in Westerpark, featuring a space of nearly 10 meters high, a distinctive wooden roof structure, and abundant daylight that can be dimmed for a more intimate atmosphere. The venue is ideal for dinners, presentations, fashion shows, and parties of up to 770 guests, and can be expanded with Westweelde to accommodate up to 1,900 visitors. Major brands such as Netflix, Porsche, and Rituals have already hosted events here, where creative concepts were given ample space to flourish and shine

Surrounded by the Westerpark, in the vibrant center of art, culture, and entrepreneurship, stands the monumental De Wester, the former Transformerhuis. The impressive nearly 10-meter high industrial space features a characteristic wooden roof structure and high-placed windows that fill the space with natural daylight. For a more intimate setting, these windows can easily be covered with wooden shutters. From the back windows, you look directly out onto our iconic Gashouder.

This event venue offers endless possibilities: an intimate dinner at round tables, large-scale brand activation, fashion show with a long catwalk, inspiring fair and presentations, or a fantastic party for up to 770 guests. Additionally, it is possible to rent all the rooms of the adjacent Westweelde, creating a total space of 1530 m². Ideal for events with up to 1900 visitors. De Wester can also serve as a break-out space in combination with the Gashouder (currently under renovation until 2026).

At De Wester, history is made daily with events from leading names such as The Greanery, Bitcoin Amsterdam, Robijn, and Rituals. International Theater Amsterdam (ITA) established their first own theater here in 1993, and events like No Art, Unseen, Live MMA, and Sanctum have thrived here, before moving on to our Gashouder.
