Leonardo Hotel Almere City Center

Modern, futuristic and central. That is Leonardo Hotel Almere City Center. The architect of this building is characterized by his love for unusual shapes and colours. This fits perfectly with his modernist style. The hotel is located next to the city theatre, around the corner from all the shops. If you have appointments outside Almere, our hotel is centrally located. Without a traffic jam to Utrecht or Amsterdam? With a 10-minute walk you are at Almere station.

About the building and the architect

Leonardo Hotel Almere City Center has a story. The building was designed by the English architect William Alsop. The hotel is built on stilts and has a spherical entrance building, with a yellow side.

It is often said that the circular part of the building resembles a cut potato. This is partly due to the brown color of the outside and the yellow on the side. During the design phase, the architect decided to 'cut off' part of the entrance building. This makes the entrance look a lot like a potato in a brown skin. The architect seems to have said the following about this: 'Like a potato, just make it yellow'.

Bierfabriek Almere is both a restaurant and a brewery. The tables even have self-service taps, with which you can tap your own beer. Would you like something to eat with it? Choose from the various dishes from the a la carte menu, including our signature dish: the farm chicken from the charcoal BBQ.
