The Deep Time Walk is a physical walk of 4.6 km where participants journey across Earth’s 4.6-billion-year timeline at a rate of one million years per metre. Starting at the formation of the solar system and the creation of Earth, the walk covers the key revolutions in Earth’s deep history. In between these events, we will reflect, visualise, sense, walk in silence and share.

Deep Time Walk

Starting at the formation of the solar system and the creation of Earth, the walk covers the key revolutions in Earth’s deep history: the formation of the Moon... the oceans... the Cambrian Explosion... mass extinctions... dinosaurs... and, right at the end, our own species, 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘀.

In between these events, we will reflect, visualise, sense, walk in silence and share. The Deep Time Walk offers a place to learn together and connect to the story of the Earth, which is in fact your own deep extended story through time.
