6 Women 1 Sound
Pauline Viardot (1821-1910) was a phenomenon. At a time when women weren't expected to perform, she graced Europe's biggest stages. She was not only a celebrated opera singer with a three-octave range, but also a composer of hundreds of works, a pianist, educator, and cultural entrepreneur. Liszt called her the first "female genius," and Berlioz proclaimed her "one of the greatest artists in music history."
She negotiated high salaries, built an immense network, had her own salon where artists gathered, and composed music that inspired male composers. She lived by her own rules in a world that expected women to conform.
That's precisely why the six musicians of ClubTE chose her story. They recognize themselves in her freedom, her courage to defy boundaries, and her passion for using music to express who you are. With music by Viardot herself, but also by Ravel, Larsen, Piazzolla, and Gershwin, they take you on a concert about freedom and expression.
The program has been carefully curated: a mix of classical compositions and more accessible, melodic pieces with Spanish and tango influences. Intimate, sultry, and surprising – an evening where different genres converge. Presented by, and based on, women.
A year of building towards this moment
The first ClubTE Concert is more than just a musical evening—it's the culmination of an intensive development program that brings music and entrepreneurship together. As part of their program at ClubTE, the six musicians are organizing this concert entirely themselves: from concept development to ticket sales, from program selection to communication.
Under the guidance of coaches and experts from ClubTE, the musicians have learned to think entrepreneurially over the past year: how to utilize their unique qualities, how to create opportunities everywhere, and how to build their own brand as a musician. They collaborated intensively with musicians from Splendor, which perfectly complemented their growth as performing artists. And each talent received specific coaching tailored to their personal wishes and ambitions.
