A timeless story about love and sisterhood
Focus Features and Working Title present a new film adaptation of Jane Austen's novel Sense and Sensibility. The story follows the two eldest sisters of the Dashwood family: the thoughtful Elinor and the sensitive Marianne. After the loss of their father, they face an uncertain future in which love and societal expectations constantly clash.
Daisy Edgar-Jones and Esmé Creed-Miles in the lead roles
Daisy Edgar-Jones, known from Twisters and Where the Crawdads Sing, plays the level-headed Elinor. Esmé Creed-Miles, known from The Sandman and Hanna, portrays the passionate Marianne. The two actresses give the sisters a contemporary credibility, without doing violence to the original story.
Director Georgia Oakley
Director Georgia Oakley debuted in 2022 with Blue Jean, a film that garnered much praise for her subtle narrative style. With Sense and Sensibility, she takes the next step: a grandly staged costume drama that is both witty and moving. Are you interested? Tickets are available via the link on this page.
