Performance about imagination and dirt

In Knoei you follow a cleaner who is determined to clean everything. But every time she thinks she is finished, a new stain appears. The dirt turns out to be the beginning of an adventure. Theatra tells this story almost without words, with lots of acting and movement.

A world full of mud and wild beasts

The cleaner ends up in a world full of mud monsters, blubber beasts and skunks. She tackles them with her sponge and mop — or does she embrace them instead? Knoei is an ode to the imagination and to everything that is dirty and wild. The performance is suitable for children aged 3 and up.

Nominated for the Niekie van den Bergprijs

Theatra received a nomination for the Niekie van den Bergprijs 2026 for this production. The Amstelveens Poppentheater offers an intimate performance environment that fits well with the atmosphere of the performance.
