Hannah Kendall (born 1984) is one of the leading composers of her generation. With her strong focus on political and social themes, and her ability to combine complex orchestral sounds with direct emotional expressiveness, she has built an impressive international career. Hannah Kendall is a lecturer at Columbia University.

Stories from the Black community

The opera is directed by the versatile Dutch creator and performer Gavin-Viano. His work, including work for Frascati Productions and Het Nationale Theater, centers on social themes. He focuses particularly on stories from Black communities and the fight for human rights.
