ArtEZ: Moeras!

In the basement of the Dutch National Opera & Ballet, a mysterious universe emerges where the layers of time intertwine. Audience and performers move together through a world steeped in myth, where history is palpable.
ArtEZ: Moeras!
Forgotten gods from the peat
Marshland is a sensory experience: a wondrous landscape where myths and forgotten gods well up from the peat. Everything you touch vibrates deep into the earth. In this world, we sleep together beneath the dolmens, stare into the mist, squint, and open our minds. The mist swirls and takes shape in the Wilde Wieven (Wild Women), who take us on an adventure. With homemade instruments and a hellish racket, we shake the marsh awake, hoping to better understand our ancestors.
"Moeras" is created by director Ciro Monoarfa Goudsmit, in collaboration with his colleagues from the Music Theatre program (ArtEZ University of the Arts, Arnhem). The performers are students from that program.
This performance is part of the Opera Forward Festival.
