Seven days before the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in Pompeii, two young men fall in love with each other. Against the backdrop of a city heading towards disaster, they share a week full of sex, graffiti, meals, violence, and Latin songs.
On the last day, everything comes to an abrupt halt. The eruption buries the city under ash and stone and preserves their embrace for centuries.
Night, Day, Dusk and Dawn draws inspiration from the work of queer photographers Wilhelm von Gloeden and Robert Mapplethorpe and from the discovery by archaeologist Massimo Osanna that the two bodies in Pompeii that were considered for centuries to be a man and a woman in an embrace, were in reality two young men. From this revelation, Nicolás Lange imagines a love story that floats between love, history, and destruction.
About Nicolás Lange
Nicolás Lange is a writer and playwright from Chilean Patagonia. He studied at the University of Chile and followed the master's programme DAS Theatre at the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten.
His work has been translated into several languages and performed in more than fifteen countries. In 2025, he received the Chilean President of the Republic Prize. He is the author of ‘Caminamos Porque Amamos Algo’ (2023) and ‘Hunt The Dog Hunt The Boy Hunt The Other Boy Too’ (2024) and has also published in various anthologies and magazines.
Nicolás has held residencies at theatres and art institutions in cities including Berlin, Brussels, Vilnius, Florence, Paris, and New York. He wrote his most recent theatre text during an international residency at the Centro Dramático Nacional in Madrid. His next novel will be published in 2027 by Penguin Random House.

About Agnes Jung Lassen
Agnes Jung Lassen (Denmark) is a theatre director and graduated in 2026 from the directing programme at the Academie voor Theater en Dans with the feminist theatre hit Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. by Alice Birch and a research project on contemporary fascism based on On the Royal Road by Elfriede Jelinek.
In her work, Agnes explores how social and political structures affect our bodies, language, and relationships. She moves at the intersection of the personal, the political, and the physical, and creates performances in which text, movement, live music, and image come together.
Inspired by dance and mime, her performances often take the form of fragmented montages, in which complex themes are approached from different perspectives and theatrical languages. In doing so, she seeks ways to make complex themes tangible and to create space for new ways of looking and being together.
