In August, the world's best rowers compete on the iconic Bosbaan during the World Rowing Championships. A week full of top-level sport, excitement, and Dutch heroes.
The Bosbaan is the beating heart of international rowing.
From August 24 to 30, the Staatsloterij 2026 World Rowing Championships will take place at the iconic Bosbaan. This world championship brings together over 1,200 para and elite athletes from more than sixty countries for a week full of top-level sport, excitement, and international camaraderie.
The Bosbaan, situated in the verdant Amsterdamse Bos and adjacent to the dynamic Zuid-As, is currently undergoing a thorough modernization to be ready for this global sporting event. With its rich history as a rowing venue, it forms the perfect backdrop for this prestigious title fight.
Both Olympic and non-Olympic rowing events are on the program. Naturally, the Dutch team is also participating, strong, ambitious, and supported by an enthusiastic home crowd.
We Welcome the World
The World Rowing Championships are not the only world championships taking place in the Amsterdamse Bos this year. From August 15 to 30, the Hockey World Cup will be held at the Wagener Stadium. More information about both World Championships.
