Every summer, the makers of Theatre hub De Sloot throw their doors wide open. During Sloot Festival, we invite you to get a glimpse of the creative process; not finished productions, but an obscure mix of existing work, one-off acts, experimental material, and try-outs of theater and dance performances, installations, and concerts.

Theater, performances, live music, DJs, food, drinks and obscure surprise acts

Young talents and established names present raw, unpolished work here alongside performances that have already proven their strength. This year's program includes De Warme Winkel, Just van Bommel & Lotte Laurens, Amsterdam Poet's Theater, King Sisters, Harry Cock, Pensive Vivivier, Touki Delphine, Punt Judith, Boogaerdt/VanderSchoot, Jelle Hoekstra, and Silbersee, among others. Alongside makers from our own incubator, there are also companies from further afield, with explicit attention given to makers from the neighborhood itself.

Besides theater, there's plenty to do: performances, live music and DJs, and of course food and drinks at Volkskeuken De Sering.

Sloot Festival has by now become an annual tradition, drawing a loyal audience of neighborhood residents and theater lovers. If you've never been: this is the moment. Spend an evening exploring every corner of the grounds, getting lost among studios, halls, and the terrace of De Sering, and seeing up close how theater comes into being, before it's even finished.

Tickets cost €8.50. For some performances you'll need to buy a separate ticket, with proceeds going directly to the artist.
