An eighties classic
Fifteen-year-old Sarah impulsively wishes the Goblin King would take her little brother, Toby, away. When her wish comes true, she must navigate a vast labyrinth to retrieve him. Along the way, she encounters all sorts of strange creatures who cross her path, helping or hindering her. Director Jim Henson, known for The Muppets , combines live action with puppetry, creating a unique world that continues to impress.
David Bowie and a young Jennifer Connelly
Bowie plays Jareth, the Goblin King, with considerable theatrical flair and also wrote some of the music. His presence gives Labyrinth a character that distinguishes it from other fantasy adventure films of the period. The film appeals to both children and adults. Interested?
