Circusbende Festival is a free outdoor festival in Amsterdam, taking place at Het Groene Veld (North) and Erasmuspark (West). Expect an eccentric mix of circus, music and more, filled with humour and absurdity. Admission and music are free, and each weekend has its own programme. Most circus performances are non-verbal and accessible by donation or ticket. Food and drinks available.

About Circusbende

Circusbende was founded in 2018 from Amsterdam’s alternative (squatter) scene and has grown into an annual festival centred around circus, experimentation and collaborative creation. It has become a fixture in the city, supported by makers, volunteers and audiences. The festival is known for its open and accessible character, presenting culture in public space. Visitors can expect contemporary circus, music, installations and work-in-progress performances, often without spoken language and always varied in form. Each weekend has its own programme and atmosphere, making every visit different.

This year: international programme full of talent and absurdity

The programme brings together international and national artists, alongside a strong talent development strand for emerging performers. This year features an extra strong focus on shows that centre humour and absurdity, resulting in a mix of playful and boundary-pushing acts.
