Mondo Piccolo - Small World
Photo exhibition by photographer Paolo Simonazzi, curated by Andrea Tinterri, organized by The Italian Cultural Institute in Amsterdam in close collaboration with the Italian Embassy in the Netherlands. Opening: 14 May at 18:00. Location: Italian Cultural Institute, Keizersgracht 564, Amsterdam.
Mondo Piccolo - Small World
About the exhibition
The exhibition is a balanced confrontation between landscape and faces; the great river Po is felt in its vastness and around its fields, poplars, floating houses and above all people working, playing, living with a recent or ancient connection. Stories of men and women who have always inhabited those places, more recent stories of migrants, provincial stories from Parma, Reggio Emilia and Mantova.

Grand opening
After the opening of the exhibition in the public hall of the Italian Cultural Institute, the documentary “Mondo Piccolo” by director Alessandro Scillitani will be shown (50 min. in Italian with English subtitles), made in the year after the publication of the photo book ( Umberto Allemandi, 2010). The film is an integral part of the project and deepens the understanding of the people and places central to Simonazzi's work.
Afterwards, a lavish reception will be offered to all participants.
