Why

Many traditional Dutch pubs in the city center have had to make way for trendy coffee shops or tourist shops. But those traditional pubs, with authentic interiors and a history stretching back well into the last century, are still very much alive. They are the living rooms of the city and the neighborhood, a place where people from all walks of life, tourists and Amsterdammers alike, can meet.

Their story is now captured and documented in a book of the same name. This exhibition showcases 38 of these pubs, with background stories and trivia that pub-goers and Amsterdam heritage enthusiasts will appreciate.
