History meets modernity at swimming Amsterdam restaurant
Until the 1990s, the ferry travelled back and forth across the IJ. When it was declared ready for the scrap heap, it was bought and turned into a restaurant. It is now moored at the romantic post-industrial Westelijke Houthavens, an area characterised by a great deal of cultural development. It's a beautiful place to be, with a wonderful skyline: the Port of Amsterdam, interesting new architecture and numerous vessels of all kinds, including the massive cruise ships that visit the city.
Relaxed vibe, impressive skyline
Pont 13 serves European cuisine with an original character; organic dishes are prepared on an open fire. The décor of the refurbished ferry, the impressive view, the relaxed, homely atmosphere and the slow food kitchen make for a distinctive combination. And because of the waterside location, Pont 13 is perfectly accessible by boat, too.
