Pont 13
From old iron to restaurant
Bar-Restaurant Pont 13 was built in 1927. Until the late nineties it was used for the transport of pedestrians and motor vehicles across the IJ. It was then sold by the municipal transport company and used for freight transport to IJburg. After some wanderings, it was finally offered for sale in Zaandam as 'old iron'.
Saved from demolition, Pont 13 was converted into a bar-restaurant. Since 2005, Pont13 has had a berth in the Houthavens of Amsterdam. A special location, with a beautiful view of the Amsterdam harbours, new architecture and ships of all shapes and sizes.
