Program
In this program, Photonen thematically links old to newer (including contemporary) choral settings: examples include a Stabat Mater by the 18th-century composer Casciolini and a Stabat Mater by Alissa Firsova from 2014, and an Ecce quomodo by Handl (16th century) and a setting by Jeroen Spitteler from 2024. It provides an interesting insight into how composers have been inspired by timeless themes and texts throughout the centuries. And you can enjoy the proven concept of beautiful old and new choral music in one program. The choir sings works by Casciolini, Handl, Firsova, Jeroen Spitteler, Lassus, David Lang, Stravinsky, Verdi, Arvo Pärt, Alonso Lobo, and the young Dutch composer Tijmen van Tol.
