The jazz department of Muziekschool Amsterdam produces many young talents every year. During the Jazz Marathon, more than 80 musicians of various ages showcase their skills. They play in diverse bands, ensembles, and big bands. Visit this event to discover the new generation of jazz musicians.
A rich history
The jazz department was founded 38 years ago by Peter Guidi. He was known as 'the godfather of the Amsterdam jazz scene'. The department grew into four big bands, seven jazz combos, and two workshops for adults. These groups rehearse weekly at the Amsterdam Music School.

The Jazz Marathon promises to be an afternoon full of music. Promising players from the new generation of jazz musicians will present themselves.
